Does it fly? Kinda.
BeCore gave PBZ a brief with two main rules: create a Red Bull Flugtag craft for less than $3,000 and make it unmistakably Nothing Major, the tennis podcast and participating team.
We developed three tennis-themed concepts, worked through the options with the team, then designed and fabricated the chosen craft in our Joshua Tree workshop. Flugtag’s budget restrictions reward a healthy DIY spirit, so we built with cardboard tube, PVC, foam core, and second-hand tennis rackets.
BeCore arranged collection and transport to Texas, where the craft launched from the Flugtag pier during the live broadcast as an honorary entry.
The announcer called it wobbly. We prefer aerodynamically optimistic.
It held together and had a decent flight in it, right up until the pilot let go early.
