Scream
Creative development, interior design, and fabrication.
Verb secured the original house from Scream, along with the film IP, then brought in PBZ to work out how the franchise could live inside the real location. We developed the interior experience across the entry, living room, kitchen and downstairs bedrooms, recreating familiar details while adapting the house for photography, filming and overnight guests.
The challenge was leaving no trace. With a very protective owner and an irreplaceable location, every addition had to be completely removable. PBZ sourced period-correct furniture and props, created a custom Ghostface stained-glass panel that fitted over the existing window without altering it, and prepared the downstairs rooms for guests while keeping the upper floor safely off limits.
Outside, we purchased a 1983 Ford Econoline and transformed it into a Woodsboro 6 News van using paint and a removable graphics package. We also installed and dressed the house for the promotional shoot, returned to reset it for three overnight stays, then struck everything and restored the property to its original condition.
David Arquette appeared as Sheriff Dewey Riley in the promotional material and welcomed guests through a prerecorded virtual check-in. The finished experience also included a working 1990s-style phone connected to Ghostface, a Scream VHS marathon and suitably nostalgic snacks. PBZ’s installed environment was later captured for Paramount’s interactive Survive Scream House 360 experience, which received a Bronze Clio Entertainment Award in 2022.
